Dr. Martin N. Buxton Retires

It's with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from Insight Physicians, PC as of June 30, 2017.  As you may know, I am the last remaining founding partner and president of this practice, which is in its thirty-third year of providing an array of inpatient and outpatient mental health services. I am proud to say that we have had over 2.2 million patient contacts and provided services to a 2,500 square mile geographic area since our inception.

My transition will also include my resignation after 15 years as the Medical Director and Chief of Psychiatry at Tucker Pavilion/CJW Medical Center. I will also be terminating my outpatient psychiatric practice at Insight Physicians, PC.

While I am not retiring from psychiatry, I will be entering into another stage of my life and will reorganize my career to allow more time for friends and family.

I want to thank you for partnering with me through these years as we provided exceptional care for our patients. I have cherished the kindness, respect, and trust that you have given me. I wish you the very best as you continue forward with this important work and take pride that Insight Physicians will continue to provide quality healthcare as it lives out the initial vision of its founding partners.

Warmly,

Martin N. Buxton, MD, LFAACA, DLFAPA
Clinical Professor, VCU Medical Center
Chief of Psychiatry, CJW Medical Center
