The City of Alexandria, VA is recruiting two Psychiatrists (FT & PT) to work at the Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS). The position is to provide clinical psychiatric services to individuals with mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders, including psychiatric and medication evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and emergency crisis intervention in community clinics and/or the adult detention center.

The minimum requirements include:

  • Experience in the practice or psychiatry,
  • Satisfactory completion of residency program in psychiatry,
  • Eligibility for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as a Clinical Psychiatrist,
  • Must be licensed and currently registered with the Commonwealth of Virginia to practice regular of osteopathic medicine
  • Must be licensed by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for prescribing medications

Annual Salary up to $137,949.32 plus potential Stipend up to $30,000

Western State Hospital in Staunton, VA is recruiting a Full-Time Salaried Physician, Board Certified/Eligible in a Primary Care Specialty, to provide primary medical care services.

We are a tobacco free, 250-bed, JC and CMS accredited state psychiatric hospital, located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, 30 minutes from two major university towns!

We are excited to be in the middle design phase for our new state-of-the art facility, designed with our recovery oriented treatment process in mind. Projected completion is mid-2013!

Duties include provision of primary care to psychiatric inpatients with acute/chronic medical problems, clinical supervision of Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants, and provision of night/weekend back-up call by phone.

Completion of an approved medical school and residency in internal medicine and license/ability to obtain a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of VA required.

This position is a 40-hour work week.
